McCain, Obama, Lieberman, and Biden have voted for the bailout. No word yet on Graham.
Uh, no. Romney is in favor of passing this bill.
But this election is bigger than your domestic politics. It needs to be, that is. This attitude is terribly selfish while we have 140K (+) troops engaged in a war....A war as CinC Obama will see to it these warriors are cut out at the legs.......After shedding blood day in and day out for the past 6 years for everyone in this country....
Putting a man such as Obama as CinC right now is unimaginable......and beyond selfish for any who would do such over domestic political issues. This is not the year, not the time in history for such....
The principled choice now is to put your own domestic issues on the back burner while making sure you stand firmly and fully behind the warriors who are giving all down range 24/7 (and have been for the past 6 years +). You do that by making sure above all else they at this time in history have a CinC that you know is committed to their success...Not their failure....
The GOP needed to defeat McCain for domestic reasons during the primary.......That did not happen. Now, we circle the wagons and make sure he is our next POTUS/CinC....

But how is it better to a) print nearly one trillion more dollars/further devalue the dollar, or b) borrow another trillion from our enemies in China and the middle east? Seems to me that that is much more dangerous than a recession.
What time did he vote? I believe (and I could be waaaay off here) that the holiday only lasted until sundown.

Doesn't this suggest that the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 could not have originated from the U.S. Senate.
I can see that the U.S. Senate can amend existing appropriation bills. But the original “bailout” bill was defeated by the House of Representatives.
Shouldn't this new bill have originated from the House of Representatives? And if so, couldn't the House of Representatives ignore this bill because it did not follow Constitutional procedure?

McCain had an opportunity to capitalize of the 90 percent of Americans that were intensely opposed to this bill and he blew it.

yes, it borders on criminal, if not criminal in fact, their conflict of interest/unethical behavior in light of their committee positions.
but also, I’ve long said Pelosi should be impeached from HER position and unspeakable abuse of her power at the expense of the country. ditto for Reid.
