My first cat (first one I remember) was an orange tabby cat named King of the Jungle, who could've been a stand-in for Morris the Cat of Nine Lives fame.

In fact, many in my neighborhood claim that he was.
King was the only cat we had that we would let out at night. He'd roam around and he'd come back every morning. The other cats we've had only we out in the backyard and only during daylight hours. (And the houses were attached on both sides.)

Anyway, King disappeared for about a week or so one time. We thought he was lost, or something had happened to him. And then one morning, there he was at the front door, banging his head against the diamond-shaped window as he usually did.

Some months later, Shamus with Burt Reynolds comes the theaters. People on my block will tell you. That wasn't Morris. That was King of the Jungle. (They did filming in my neighborhood in Brooklyn, not to far from where I lived at the time.)

LOL.....great story Tann!

We had many cats as kids as we lived in the country.

One in particular was named Jethro....you may laugh now.:)

He turned feral over time. The last time we saw him he was sitting on a burm outside a window as if to say goodbye for the last time then slowly walked away....
