Still worried? Then go volunteer for McCain/Palin or your favorite conservative candidate. You'll have less time to worry and be much more inclined to see the real story.

If the people elect Obama, they deserve everything that they get. If we allow him to be elected, we deserve everything that we get.

The people always get the government they deserve. If we have idiotic leaders it is because we put up with them. Period.

Their only chance is to depress conservative turnout.

Which is why they're doing their best to discourage and even panic us. Haven't we seen this propaganda before? Haven't we learned anything? I don't think this is over by a long shot. I expect McCain to win.

The only thing we have to fear is negative vanities.

Excellent post. To which I will add a quick comment: I distinctly remember in 2000 feeling exactly the same way that I suspect many Obama supporters feel today. We were all broken glass Republicans, while the other side were mostly people who had to hold their nose to support Gore. How well did that work out in the end?

But mainly this is Obama and the media now trying to put on a full court press to convince Republicans and right-leaning Independents that further resistance is futile. And I can’t believe that so many people here are falling for it. You should all be embarrased.

McCain ping.

This is a “we've heard it all before” ping, by request from impeachedrapist.

Sound familiar? Sure. We get the same “GOP is doomed” crap every election. How many times have we been doomed by registration drives?

This election is going to be a nail-biter, IMO. What bothers me more than anything is, should McCain/Palin lose, there will be plenty of FReepers piling on McCain as a "RINO loser" as they are spurred on by radio talk-show hosts who have always been Bush's closest friends.
To me, he is fighting a continual uphill battle BECAUSE of the resentment of President Bush and his demonstrated 8-year record of non-achievement--with the exception of two very good SC appointments.
I believe that it goes to the character of McCain that he hasn't pointed out more of the differences between himself and Bush and that it has been to his detriment. The media, Obama, and the liberal establishment is constantly crowing "McBush" in trying to tie him to the president. McCain should, in the next debate, point out the differences because there are plenty of them--especially when it came to fighting a global war on terrorism with your arm(y) tied behind your back.
