McCain campaign did NOT know about Gwen Ifill’s book
Fox News ^

Posted on 10/01/2008 6:35:25 AM PDT by Blue Turtle

...confirmed for us here on GretaWire: the McCain campaign did NOT know about Gwen Ifill’s book (I think I told them when I made my efforts - emails about midnight - to find out!) I am stunned….the campaign (actually both) should have been told before the campaign agreed to have her moderate. It simply is not fair - in law, this would create a mistrial.

What Johnny Mac’s campaign staff fails to know could fill volumes ... they appear to be frequently blind sided unnecessarily.

Sounds like someone in the McCain campaign is derelict in their duties then.

Unbelievable. Ms Ifle not only has an ideological stake in who wins the election, she has a financial stake. She needs to be replaced.

“It simply is not fair - in law, this would create a mistrial.”

You are getting a good preview of how this coming Politburo is going to govern.

It isn’t fair, and they knew, but the rules of fair play do not apply to them.

They should get Lehrer to moderate. He did a pretty good job on the first debate.

I think they can have a staffer read the internet all day and night

They just might win this election.

How could they not know? I’ve known she was writing this book for at least two weeks. Mac may be a patriot and a war hero, but buttoned down? Not so much.

They need to hire FReepers to do their research for them or simply read FR. Sheesh!

In the spirit of bipartisanship, McCain won’t complain about the blatant conflict of interest regarding Ifill.

It is not fair-you are right. But why did the Republicans and the McCain camp go along with this.

The expression Stupid Party seems so accurate.

Fair? When did fait have anything remotely to do with what the democrats and their willing accomplices in the MSM are doing regarding this election?

We have to counter them and spread the word. McCain and Palin have to call them on it in front of millions everytime they get the chance.

I'd love to see them ask the moderator a question or two, in front of millions, about his Obama book.

OBAMA IS IMPLICATED IN THE FINANCIAL CRISIS

NOW WE KNOW WHAT A COMMUNITY ORGANIZER DOES

I'M VOTING FOR SARAH

Maybe they were depending on the integrity of the moderator to make the proper disclosures?

Dems would NOT go on a debate moderated by Hannity and Rush.

My question is: Why in the hell didn’t McCain and the GOP press for someone from FOX, such as Chris Mathews or Brit Hume to moderate? All we have for all the debates is an array of in-the-tank Obama supporters. Horrid job, whoever “negotiated” on the McCain side.
