What is “mental health parity”? They are going to force me to become as crazy as them?

I’m too depressed to tell you and my insurance won’t pay for my anti-depression meds. But they will pay for Viagra.

Seriously, if a Family doc puts “depression” on the charge sheet for a Medicare patient, we either won’t get paid or get paid a much smaller amount. (I’m not sure what the rule is today, it varies.)

However, nearly every depressed patient is fatigued, has insomnia, generalized aches and pains, and stomach upsets. It’s true, and we get paid.
