Morris: "McCain is losing the election this minute"
Fox News | 9/30/08

Posted on 09/30/2008 1:33:52 PM PDT by pabianice

Dick Morris on Fox: McCain is bungling the bail-out issue so badly that he has basically lost the election by "a lot; will be 12 points behind Obama next week." McCain "is giving this issue away to Obama" by being ineffective and not pinning it rightfully on Pelosi, ACORN, and the Dems.

Pro-Obama ads are running 3-1 vs. McCain ads. Obama videos/Yoytube are running ten to one against McCain. I can't understand how a brave warrior like McCain can be so blind and go down with no fight. HOW can McCain let the ACORN issue just slide away?

I thought Morris thought the campaign suspension was a good thing and that he was going to win the campaign with it?

He did say that on Thursday before the debate and IT COULD HAVE BEEN BUT McCain blew it at the debate...he should have said, “I've just come from Washington where I was able to get the house republicans a voice on the bailout, there is TOO MUCH PORK in the bill”...
instead when asked if he would vote for the bill he mumbled around...

I told my husband he was probably didn't have much time because of all the traveling around. My husband said "Hell he was on a airplane for 2 hours or more that gave him plenty of time to get down his strategy, HE BLEW IT!"

The American people have the attention span of the last Seinfeld Rerun.

Sure McCain needs to fight, but Political history has always proved that the best time to go negative and release dirt is the last 10 days of the Election.

Gore did this and erased a 6 to 8 point Bush lead in 2000.

You go hard too soon ,and people forget.

Morris is just mad that he put his advice in writing before the debate, and McCain has not followed it to date.

I listen to Dickie, but also remember he gave us 8 years of the Toon................
Think about what you just said... McCain ignored the advice of the guy who accomplished the impossible and actually succeeded in getting Clinton elected twice!

Do you think that's smart?

Morris is always wrong in his predictions, so this actually makes me more optimistic.

I was telling my wife last week that it seems he has given up and I guess I am not the only one who feels that way

Once. Morris did not work with Bubba in 1992. That was Carville.

,i.DICK MORRIS. I mean this guy flip flops so much, he has no credibility whatsoever.

Amazing how this guy parlayed a sex scandal into a permanent TV money making gig rather than a ruined career

sign of the times

That’s exactly it. McCain has taken the stance that we need to come together to pass this bill. (I wish that wasn’t his stance, but that’s the one he took.) He has also said that Obama needs to rise above politics so Congress can pass this bill.

The only consistent option now is for McCain to try to “rise above politics” to help get this bill passed. The problem with that is: 1) few people want the bill passed, and 2) Obama is not rising above politics- he’s campaigning.

Obama got way ahead when he refused to join McCain in the suspension of his campaign. It sounded brilliant at the time, but in retrospect, it was a dumb move.

So, if he goes ahead by 5 points in a week is McCain a courageous winner? I get it, he'll be a winner THEN.

I am so tired of this crap.

No matter. If ranting like this gives you some form of psychic comfort, keep it up.

Excellent News. Whatever Dickie Morris the Toe Sucker predicts, the exact opposite turns out to be true.

Let us hope. He needs to fight I agree, but Dick Morris is no reason to change strategy.

There is a reason Morris is just a TV guy now.

"I guess you haven’t seen the videos. The videos that the McCain campaign should be showing the American people. The videos of the RATS in their own words. I guess you haven’t seen those. By your reasoning you should never stand up to the media because they’ll only twist your words. That IS the definition of cowardice."

I've seen the videos and engage in viral politics.

The problem is you don't understand the playing field.

The playing field is not on national TV its the net. and McCain is using it. You can't break through on TV because they rigged the game. But They (MSM)don't control the net.

There is an army out here working right now (I have recruited 12 people myself.)

Tell me are you sitting around complaining about what McCain is not doing and nothing else?

Search the videos out, post them on message boards other than FR. Mail 10 friends with these videos and ask them each to mail it to ten friends.

TV is dead, this battle is on the net.

Get in the fight.

A majority of the country is embracing the Socialist solutions being offered by the left.

Excuse me? They had to vote down the bailout bill because voters were tying up the lines telling them not to do it.

It’s possible to overcome dumb moves. Elections can close very quickly. Carter and Reagan were basically tied until the last week of the campaign and RR won by a landslide. I would rather keep my powder dry rather than come out and rant and rave like a fool.

For whatever reason, Morris is almost always 180 degrees off from reality. In fact, McCain has GAINED in several polls in the last few days. All he has to do is SHUT UP about the bailout, since he can’t seem to say anything constructive.

And Carville's been running around in his Pumas trying to help McCain get elected too, no thanks to the candidate.
