In what is being billed as the first time they've ever played at the same concert, Bruce Springsteen and Billy Joel have signed on for a benefit for Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama on Oct. 16 at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom.
Other "exciting guests" for the show have yet to be announced. Balcony tickets are $500, while premiere seats are $2,500 and lounge seats are $10,000. They can be purchased by clicking here.
Springsteen, who endorsed Obama this spring, recently finished a tour with the E Street Band in support of his 2007 album, "Magic." On Sunday, it was confirmed the group will play during the Super Bowl halftime show on Feb. 1 in Tampa, Fla.
Joel, meanwhile, begins a month-long tour of China, Australia, Japan and New Zealand Nov. 12 in Hong Kong.
This is assuming that Joel can get to the benefit without wrecking another car.
What about Bin Laden? Has he endorsed Obambi yet?
The Boss, the Piano Man...and the Empty Suit
I think he did.
Nice goin’ BJ. Idiot.
BJ + still drunk = Obama supporter
Pukeramaboma.
Once I leave the New York Metro Area and go west or towards my brothers house near Cherry Hill I travel into the Musical Time Warp. Billy Joel, the Commodores, Janet Jackson, etc. IT NEVER FAILS!
I think Michael Jackson leading the “Boy’s Choir fo Obama” will be there.
Sorry . I’d need a ‘buy out’ to afford those tickets.
"Blow some hot air, you're Obamaman. . .
Blow some hot air, tonight. . .
'Cause we're all in a mood for handout now,
And you got us feelin' allright. . .
Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn.
Damn shame. Can’t stand their politics, but both can put on a hell of a show.
It seems such a waste of time
If that's what it's all about
If that's movin' up then I'm movin' out.
Yeah, that’s got the creepy factor like Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael Douglas.
Billy Joel paid his wife’s student loans as a wedding present.
Makes sense. They’re both 30 years past their prime. They both had highly, highly overrated primes. They’re both faux-workingclass heroes who like to pretend they came from the mean streets (instead of Freehold and Hicksville). They both think they’re intellectuals. They’re both adulterers. They both think they’re suffering artists.
