I thought the same thing. I couldn't stop reading it. It made me feel ill but it explained how people fall for this crap time and time again. Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
My Frau, er ... my wife, is from Germany and she has, on many occasions, spoken of this very topic. While she was born decades after the rise and fall of Hitler, she acknowledges that he was a master orator (even though we just hear gutteral Deutsch and see an angry dude with a funny moustache).
She sees through Obambi and repeatedly warns, and I quote: “Zis is not dee man zat zee American people zink that he isss. Zis country is about to elect its own ‘Little Adi’...”
Unfortunately, I learned early in marriage not to question her gut instincts on a person’s character...I am sad to say that once again I think she is correct. Sigh.
