You clearly have never had any dealings with the Keystone Kops of the Federal Law enforcement World. A bigger collection of fascists and idiots not to be found anywhere else.

These guys make Russian cops and tax collectors look straight up honest, brilliant, brave and forthright.

I think that might count as one. In all of the vast range of federal bureaucracies and programs. One.

The BATF did conduct the initial "Showtime" raid on the Davidians...

IIRC, it was after that particular debacle that some suggestions were made about "doing something with" BATF. One such suggestion concerned possibly folding their operations into the US Marshal Service. The head of that agency made the following comment concerning such plans: What happens when you mix clean water with dirty water? Answer: You get DIRTY WATER. Right now, MY water is clean. I don't want the BATF in my outfit.

That is fairly declarative on the reputation that BATF enjoys with sister federal agencies. There was also a suggestion to maybe fold them into the FBI, but it never went anywhere, although the reason for that wasn't so much FBI disdain for their methods, as much as it was a sense of snobby eliteism on the part of the FBI. Another suggestion that was raised (this one I favor the most) was to remove them from the status of law enforcement, confiscate their firearms and criminal arrest powers and relegate them to the level of oversight for regulatory purposes. Let them look over paperwork and issue citations as needed. But take their guns because they are lacking in adult supervision. That idea went nowhere, partly because they have some very heavy hitting Senators and Representatives in their corner: Diane Fienstein, Diane Boxer, Teddy Kennedy, chuckie Schumer, Carolyn McCarthy and the rest of the gun grabbing Bozos.

I’d simply like to know why the BATFE is continually wasting/MISAPPROPRIATING my hard earned money (taxes) for these kinds of assaults on OUR freedoms.

I’d also like an explanation from every elected offical in our Government as to WHY they refuse to address this increasingly dire situation.

Well???

Mike

Abolish the ATF would mean Janet Reno would have to remove those pictures of Elian Gonzales's ‘’rescue’’ from her wall of fame

The feds on the Elian Gonzales raid in Miami were Border Patrol agents on loan to the U.S. Marshal's service, most federal marshals being to afraid to actually face the possibility of a gunfight on equal terms.
