Mac will be down 10-15 points by the time of the debate, perhaps as much as 20 in a few outlier polls. Palin will hold her own but will not move the public. Such a deficit going into October is too much to overcome, particularly when the MSM has a vested interest in an Obama victory. It's all but over.

It should be known by now that polls are used as a weapon. This well prior to the actual event, be it American or Canadian politics. Only in the closing week, when the pollsters then become aware that they will have some "splainin' to do," might they present more realistic figures.
I would surmise the pollsters are no friends of the Republicans.
