After McCain said he’d cut ethanol subsidies in the debate the other night, I figure ‘pubs can say goodbye to Iowa for the next ten years at least......

In view of all that it is all the more sickening that Harkin could get elected US senator, much less dog catcher. Shows how low this country has sunk, I hate to say it. Yet the conservative leaning states (and states like IA that were once more heavily Republican) keep electing lefties like him. Look at ND also. By contrast, how many “blue” states elect conservatives? And if one of them were to lie through his teeth about military service, he would be thrown out of office promptly.

voters put the same tired pigs back in office.

Yep, just like here in the People's Republic of Illinois that POS Durbin will likely cruise back in.

I swear, the stupidity of far too many voters in this country never ceases to amaze me.

The truth is Reed has no money. Many people have never even heard of him. This poll is an embarassment to Harkin and shows his vulnerability. If only a credible candidate had stepped forward who had the ability to raise some money, Harkin could have been taken out.

My guess would that Reed did something to raise his name ID.

Harkin’s easiest race was his first in 1984. He’s really too left-wing for the state I think. Any credible GOPer should be able to avoid losing to him in a landslide.
