CBC News apologized Sunday for publishing a column about Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin, conceding that it was "viciously personal."
More than 300 people complained to the CBC ombudsman about a column that ran on Sept. 5 on CBCNews.ca by award-winning freelance writer Heather Mallick.
The article, "A mighty wind blows through Republican convention," reportedly said Ms. Palin was chosen to appease the party's "rural," "unlettered" "white trash" base and said that the vice-presidential nominee looked like a "porn actress."
CBC News publisher John Cruickshank said in a letter that the public broadcaster erred in judgment.

They don’t mean it. Communists never mean it when they say sorry.

What a bunch of flaccid losers the CBC folks are.
I guess they've never heard that you shouldn't ever apologize
for doing something you enjoy!

    Rally on Palin!
At the very least, she had nothing to do with the 700 Billion that is about to be extracted from our wallets.

Damn straight they don’t mean it. As an ex-Canuck who lived through 2 nimrod anti-US PM’s in Cretien and Martin, they’re more anti-American than CNN and MSNBC combined, believe me.

As an apology, the CBC needs to run a special on all the lies, including their refutations that the LW have concocted about Sarah Palin, and describe the sources as accurately as possible, as well as the media outlets that have disseminated the lies in the first place.

The CBC folks are going to have to do something to show that the old whore who works for them is serious ~ like convince her to commit sepukku ~ and I’m sure they know how to arrange that.

I have a good friend from Canada who moved to the U.S. because he is a high achiever and likes the environment here better than the Canadian Nanny state. He tells me the media in Canada, particularly the CBC is scum. In his opinion the Canadian media is even worse than the MSM in U.S. He will be getting his U.S. citizenship soon but not in time for 2008 election. He is the type of immigrant we need more of.

Worthless without firing the individual in question and parading her before one of the Canadian Human Rights Tribunals.
