What wrong with the socialist bailout now being fast tracked through Congress? No accountability. They don't have to vote on approving subsequent installments after the first $350 billion - that kicks in automatically if Congress doesn't
disapprove. They've limited the amount of time congresscritters can consider a disapproval resolution. And they've taken care to remove bad debts already belonging to big failed mortgage firms from the bailout limits. So they've short-circuited democratic norms, accountability and waive the rules for firms at the heart of the financial market crisis. Does that sound like a bill you would be inclined to support? KILL THE BAILOUT!

So now JP Morgan who got WaMu for basically nothing, can sell those bonds to the government for a profit. Pelosi and the democrats are taking credit and saying this was consistent with Obama’s suggestions. This needs to be hanged from their necks at every point possible.

And Sarah. If McCain goes for this she should quit.

The secretary if, within 10 calendar days after the date on which Congress receives a report of the Secretary described in subsection (a)(3), Congress enacts a joint resolution disapproving the plan of the Secretary with respect to such additional amount. This is total BULLS*IT! Pelosi and the RATS know damn well that Congress will not enact (write, vote, pass) a "joint resolution" in 10 days of notification.

here's a thought... with all the money and deal writing going on, why have i not seen one mention of audits?
any company that wants to dip into the cash and get bailed out, should subject themselves to a FULL audit.
after that... i would want names. names of the people, rated by levels or unethical behavior, and charges brought appropriately.
people that brought the system to this point should not be allowed to do it again

I agree 100% we must all first read and try to understand what this bailout really reads and then send our voices to Washington en mass. I truly respect Michelle and her insight, but I need to try and understand what the majority party is putting out as a solution.

Its basically highway robbery, folks. If this is such a good bill, why are they in such a hurry to jam it through?

Yep. If Republicans vote for that, then fiscal conservatism will be dead in this country.

To add to my original post about JP Morgan profiting.
JP Morgan employees have given 180K to McCain and 440K to Obama according to opensecrets.org. Seems that investment in Obama is already paying dividends.
