While I think Obama is tacitly doing this, unfortunately we can create more of a stink for ourselves (see quip from a Springfield MO paper on McCain having a truth squad as well) I think this might not be as big as we think:

“Enlisting Missouri law enforcement to intimidate people and kill free debate is reminiscent of the Sedition Acts - not a free society,” Blunt said in his 258-word statement.

Frank Donatelli, deputy chairman of the Republican National Committee, held a conference call with reporters Saturday morning while touring the state’s offices for GOP presidential candidate John McCain.

In a telephone interview with the News-Leader, Donatelli admitted the Democratic prosecutors “haven’t specifically said” they would use their prosecutorial powers on Obama’s behalf.

“I don’t think you have to use the power. I think if you just call out somebody and you have the power, you’ve made your point,” Donatelli told the News-Leader. “It’s not that you have to prosecute a guy, but people think you might.”

Donatelli said prosecutors don’t normally join campaign truth squads because their mere presence as a campaign attack dog “has a chilling affect on people’s rights of free speech.”

But a review of McCain’s own truth squads shows he has a district attorney from New Mexico and the South Carolina attorney general ready to respond to misleading ads from Obama and Democrats in their respective states.

Are they threatening prosecution of free speech?

I didn’t see the harm in having Lawyers posturing to tell their side of the politics, read as the truth (Very subjective in todays LIBERAL society). I feel it is inherently unconstitutional to use the Sherrif to intimidate speech and in no way has McCains campaign or representatives authored anything like that. However, it appears based on what the Gov of MO is saying the Obama camp did.

At least it deserves an investigation at most Prosecution. Obama’s campaign should be made to answer what their intent is. In the clip the lady atty states that Obama is a Christian. Subjective analysis:

If I say Obama is a Muslim because the Quran documents that a Child born to a Muslim father inherits his fathers religious affiliation then I have standing on the matter, it is not a lie, it is not libel. If Obama has converted to Christianity then he could explain that if he desired. However, its all subjective.

If I said Obama endorses the extermination of the Jews because he would sit down and negotiate without pre-condition a man like Amadmanjihadi and that may well lead to empowerment that did not forthright exist and cause the extermination of the Jews by Iran then that is Subjective, read as Rosie position on BUSH CAUSED 911 and other such conspiracies.

So my point remains it is all subjective in politics and therefore is not a lie. So they can launch truth campaigns all day long its when they violate the rights of the people to say what they want to say regardless of what it is they are saying then we have a clear violation of the law.

I hope Gov Blunt is successful in at the very least getting the Obama camp on the record.
