Homemade signs also were permitted at the Pain rally at The Villages.

I think this story needs follow up. I was looking at the Fredericksburg website today, and there are a lot of photos of the rally. There are plenty of signs-- but they are "change we need" signs and Barack Obama signs. So any argument about signs obstructing view or any other such nonsense doesn't fly. If signs were not allowed, how is it that so many in the audience had them? Pretty obvious that Obama's campaign is in favor of signs as long as they are controlling them....

No idea what went on at the Villages, but they had more than two times as many people OUTSIDE as they had INSIDE.

That wouldn't have been possible at the rally in Fairfax ~ besides the local Republican party officials thought they'd only get 2,000 or so ~ enough to fit in a local highschool gymnasium.

We had 23,000 people show up on almost no notice!

We still had only enough "security" to check bags for suicide bombs and firearms for 2,000.

Private signs were the first to go. So were our jackets, purses, bags, lawnchairs, and everything else the security guys would need to check.

We went doggone near NEKKID just to see Sarah Palin and John McCain.

Now that's dedication and WHINE FREE political rallying.

Oh,yes, we were provided with Palin/McCain signs ~ the blue ones ~ at the rally. Barely enough to show color in that huge crowd.
