Steven Schottenstein, Corporate Chief Operating Officer at MI Schottenstein Homes, has failed his responsibilities as a father, a parent. He was a weekend father who felt he had to dominate everything to ensure he had absolute control. When my mother fought for our freedom, my father responded with a barrage of well-orchestrated litigation. He manipulated facts to decimate my mother, my sisters and me.
Why are we the only ones with enough courage to stand up to this bully?
My Aunt Jeanie Schottenstein, who co-chairs the domestic violence league, refused to help. She is the wife of Jay Schottenstein, Value City Owner, and close friend to my father. The Columbus Dispatch failed to act. Joel Chow from NBC turned his head too. Ronald Solove, my previous Guardian at litem, was also an ex-employee of the family law firm, Schottenstein Zox and Dunn. Mr. Solove neglected to listen to my sisters and my wishes and desires. He sided with my father. He crucified my mother, and helped sentence my mother to jail. This man destroyed the best years of my life, along with my family. Rhonda Schottenstein, my stepmother, signed the check which had me admitted into Cross Creek Manor, a juvenile delinquent camp. Dr. Steven Beck, a psychologist, wrote a personal letter to Judge Jim Mason that admitted me into Menniger Clinic, under false pretenses. He refused to testify about it. Barry H. Wolinetz, my abusive father’s well-paid attorney, verbally attacked me in court, while I was testifying. My attorney had been fired.
No one wanted to fight a Schottenstein except us - his victims. Will nobody help? Will nobody stand up? A week after teachers from Columbus School for Girls had written letters of praise on my behalf about my achievements, my father had me locked up, first in Cross Creek Manor in Utah. There I was surrounded by suicidal teens, drug addicts, alcoholics, and prostitutes. The staff berated me, I had no contact with anyone, I was isolated from society; it was as though I didn’t exist. Later my father had me moved to the Menninger Clinic, a psychiatric hospital in Kansas. They attempted to brainwash me, took every ounce of freedom I was ever granted, and forced me to live with a coke addict. My mail was monitored and so was every phone call with my mother, and my two younger sisters.

When those immigrants came here in the 1800's, America was completely different than now. It was wide open, our population was low, and we NEEDED them to settle and build up basically everything West of the Mississippi.
And those rhat came at the turn of the century were regulated (see Ellis Island dimwit). If they were sick they were sent packing. Now, some restaurant worker with TB, or worse, who was in Mexico yesterday is now serving you your food. America has a “phantom” economy with the fat cats playing Wall Street like a casino, and making up the rules as they go. I think America is hemmoraging through it’s banking system. FYI - the MI Homes family is not the same family as the retail store owners. I think they are 2nd or 3rd cousins. Myron (The M) and Irving (the I) came from nearby Dayton I believe. They however are both very wealthy families. The author of this letter to the editor was a schoolmate of my ex wife. I met her a couple of times years ago. I think great wealth gives these people too much time to think about how guilty they (and by projection all of us) should feel.

I work in I.T. so I know lots of people on H1-Bs or green cards.
One of the most vehement anti-illegal people I know is a Muslim here on a green card. After 9/11 his green card app took five years to process, and it pissed him off that waves of illegals were invading the country and demanding their “rights” while he, doing things the right and legal way, was living in constant fear that his green card would not be issued and that he’d have to leave the country he loved. His GC was finally issued and he is now applying for US citizenship and his app has been stuck in namecheck hell for a year. I feel bad for the guy; he loves this country and hates his home country. He wants to become an American citizen so he can participate fully in our wonderful democracy. He thinks illegals demanding a path to citizenship are nothing more than common criminals. I agree.
Any amnesty is a slap in the face to the immigrants who have followed the rules and done all that is asked of them. It’s a slap in the face to the educated professionals having to meet the high educational standards of the H1-B visa, who have subjected themselves to the extensive background and medical checks required by the transition to the immigrant GC, and who have obeyed all laws. We do not need another amnesty. We have no need of people in this country who do not speak English and who are poorly educated or illiterate. We already have enough illiterate and uneducated Americans. Uneducated illegals are not going to help this country stay in the lead in terms of scientific research or economic might. No, no, no.
This issue makes me so MAD. Ugh. It’s disgusting. And don’t even get me started on chain immigration; we should get rid of that.
