SJReidhead over at the Pink Flamingo notes why Sarah Palin came off so incoherent in those CBS News interviews with Katie Colic - Palins responses where edited to make her appear to stumble:
(2:58) Couric: What, specifically, in your view, could be done to convince the new government in Pakistan to take a harder, tougher line against terrorists in that country?
Palin: At a time when new leadership comes in, that is the opportunity to forge better, tighter, more productive relationships and thats what well take advantage of with new leadership in the US and in Pakistan. And Im sure that President Zardari, too, will agree with us as we commit to the support that Pakistan needs, that other nations in the region need, in order to win this war on terrorism. (3:32)
(5:39) Couric: But what lessons do you think you have learned as youve watched this unfold in terms of implementing the democracy and the challenges inherent in that goal?
Palin: Well, one is that America cannot be counted on to do this solely, to be the savior of every other nation, but we need friends and we need allies and we need this nation-building effort and we need to forge new alliances, and that is what a new election will provide opportunity to do.
And dolts like Kathleen Parker from NRO fell for the deception. Americans need to demand CBS offer the ENTIRE unedited interview on their website - now. We can then decide for ourselves what was important to hear from Sarah Palin.

I think this cheapens her.....I think it's juvenile, it cheapens Riodacat and diminishes any credibility Riodacat might have had.
Check out #44... nice idea for your next WH Correspondents’ Dinner FReep... ;-)
This should be standard practice when anyone agrees to be interviewed by the MSM.
I couldn’t make heads or tails of this post when it was first put up.....probably there are some gaps between the end of the questions and the responses, but it is not clear what they are, only the start times of 2 questions and the start time of one response.
I finally saw what all the hubbub was about. I watched the Katy/Governor Sarah Palin interview and can certainly agree that she came off as stumbling and nervous.
HOWEVER....
Katy Kouric’s every question was SOOO planned and calculated, and the editing was so precise to make the WORST impression of Sarah possible.
We’ve all seen her on stage and in debates, but, sure, she got nervous in front of the camera when confronted with such baiting questions.
Outside of the interview, she has shown herself to have grace under pressure and that she is a real and true patriot.
This interview footage would not be so interesting if Kay Kouric contrasted it with Joseph Biden’s “....three letter word; jobs, J-O-B-S,” or Barack’s, “no, wait, that’s not it, hold on a second, I can’t hear myself talk, not a Breathalyzer, a, uh, yeah, whaddayacallit, yeah, uh, a, uh....”.
When set up and snared in front of the camera, certainly Sarah failed in this interview, but when Barack is by himself he makes much worse mistakes (not to even mention Biden) that are never, ever, ever, ever reported by Katy Kouric or her friends. This is a setup of out-takes of flubs during an interview, and nothing more.
When Barack or Biden speak off the TelEPrompter, they can’t help but to screw themselves, whereas Governor Palin has proved herself over and over again as a quick with wit and competent patriot.
If only the media would put this side by side with Joe and Barry, the triviality of this interview would be easily understood; much more is at stake than jabs at our VP nominee for a botched interview, because the policies she believes in have already been presented and explained, and they are correct.
