A liberal is a mixture of high self-regard and absolute certainty that one has The Real Truth About Everything.
They can't go back now, they're convinced they Know It All and they have to Save the World with that knowledge.
I see old films of JFK, and for all my differences with him, I can see him watching tonight's debate and liking McCain and thinking "What's this other guy's story?" He was from a day when Democrats actually liked the USA. Even tonight, Obama was going on about how rotten this country is. Time and again I've heard that the candidate who's down on America loses, but again, he's a lib, he can't help himself.
