In watching tonight’s debates, it occured to me that McCain was clearly set up. I was expecting him to come out with the talking points on the bailout as outlined by Gingrich et al.

Here is how the set went. Reid says the bailout bill won’t go forward without McCain’s support. (This is a fallacy. The Dems have a majority. They trolled Mccain with “bipartisan” label reinforcement bait.) Dodd and Franks filled the media with the myth that they had a deal on the table. McCain and Obama show up at Presidential invite. Everyone swears secrecy. Obama blows it up. Then Reid and Franks blame McCain for it and imply he politicized it by showing up. They tell him to go away and stay out of it. His showing up for the debate looks like he buckled on his pledge not to leave DC without a bill.

McCain knows the House Repubs. have their own free market proposal. He falls on the sword at the debate so as not to politicize it by announcing it and polarizing the Dems against it. True blue, he plays by the Country-first rules.

Half of the International policy debate becomes about the bad economy. Mccain has his hands tied and can’t differentiate himself. The diversion and checkmate takes what should have clearly been a McCain win and neutralizes it.

Or - McCain is actually for the $700 billion bailout. Unbelievable.

I think the Pubs should hold a press conference, and present their alternative plan to the public. Then they should describe the DEM plan complete with the ACORN giveaways. They should then iterate why the bill is defective. Then they should say, “Clearly the Rats have majorities in both the House and the Senate and can pass their bill without our assistance”. Since resolving this issue is an urgent priority, rather than quibble with our opposition, we suggest they put up their bill for a vote, and let the chips fall where they may.

McLoser is a media lap dog. He stands for nothing. Is Rush back on oxy? McLiberal's knee jerk reaction to some false deal was not good for him. He can't stop himself from being bi-partisan. I am so sick of this GOP traitor. He should have joined the 'Rat party when he had the chance.
