Can’t read about Timex without thinking of an ad they did back in the 50’s with John Cameron Swezey, when tv was live. A Timex watch was mounted on an outboard motor to show just how tough a beating it could take. Sure enough, the watch flew off the motor into the tank. Live and in black and white. Swezey could not stop laughing and they cut back to the show.
There’s nothing better than live TV for entertainment value! I just hope the Repupublic doesn’t “fly off the motor into the tank”, so to speak!
