President Bush and Republican presidential hopeful Sen. John McCain pleaded with GOP members of the House to end their party rebellion and quickly approve a Wall Street bailout plan.

Knee jerk reactions do not become us. The leftists will pull every trick in the book to discredit McCain. This is one of them. Another are the falsified poll results.
Wait until you see what they do to McCain tonight!
Ok then! :0) I thought you were talking about my post. I might be getting tired of reading today. So much to absorb!
It seems pretty obvious that most of us don't trust McCain as far as we could toss him.
So much so that a simple headline (fictitious tho it may be) from the vile MSM is enuf to end our “arranged marriage” with the Republican candidate.
Pretty sad commentary on the state of this election. :(
:-)
I see that. But I don’t think this buzzword “bailout” that is being thrown around accurately describes it.
I hate the situation as much as anyone. If it passes, the treasury will realize some recoupment of the bad assets it would purchase, though. The question is, how much.
It sucks that this is being considered.
It is a well know fact that we have trolls that have been here since Free Republic started. How long someone has been here is irrelevant.

Even with all this, the bastards are STILL trying to fund corrupt organizations like ACORN. GO GOP’ers! Don't give up the ship!!!!
As have you. Perhaps you are one of his/her alter egos.
Just why then DID dlt change the title to a very incendiary troll-like title???
Breaking News: McCain Supports House GOP Plan (CBS News)

Ok was the headline at ABC actually changed?
True. Just as the first RTC gave taxpayer money back.
My main interest in it is that it will probably jumpstart the housing market which I feel we need more than anything.
You got it all wrong. This is McCain being the MAVRICK he always was, and not betraying HIS OWN principles.
He said that HE DID NOT SUPPORT THIS BAIL OUT PLAN AS PRESSENTED BY BUSH, and he means what he says.
It has been a wild couple of days. Add to the economy woes the fact that the Dems are spinning and lying and it can make a sane person weep. Wrong is right, lies are truth and Chris Dodd is a financial genius. Just ask Reid. ;-)
Good question but I don't think we'll get an answer, dlt went MIA .
IMO, "jumpstart" is too strong. Stabilize and prevent further declines is what I would hope for. I believe everyone is guessing at this point. Too complex, are the securities that they are proposing to buy.
But, if this thing passes, it damn well better at least stabilize the markets. If not, we are in deep stuff.
What does a doofus know, though? I believe a chain reaction has started and no one knows how it will end up. Its in God's hands, but we should try. I don't believe just letting this play out will work. I hate saying that, as a Live Free or Die conservative with strong free market beliefs, but there it is.
“ABC didnt change anything...”
Yes, I certainly did not think so. I’m happy to see that the moderators have changed the headline to what it should have been.
A lot of people are on edge, and emotionally committed to one position or another on the big issue of the day, and twisting a title in a way that inflames those emotions is not helpful.
A hallmark of conservatism is reasoned, reasonable, and civil discourse. There has been a decided lack of that recently on this forum. I hope that we will soon see a change to more thoughtful commentary and debate.
Check out dlt’s posting history. They’re a troll that only makes appearances during presidential election years.
What I understand is that McCain did not like the idea of any return on the sale of this junk that the RATS wanted to spend on pork. I understood he wanted something better for the American people. Maybe I was wrong, but I think this was his concern. He wants more transparency.
id you even read the article?
