some of you are having a knee jerk reacion to what Bill said.

He’s right. Bush, as president, didn’t DO ENOUGH to bring this to the attention of the American people. Sure, he brought this up many times to congress but that should have been his clue that he needed the rest of us to understand what was going on. And he didn’t. You know why? Bush might be a repubilcan but he was never a leader..not of the conservative movement. Bush slept at the wheel on this even though he didn’t create this monster. That I agree was democrats doing...but Bush, like in so many other things, is just too slow and myopic.

compassionate conservatism is just liberal speak for BIG GOVERNMENT SPENDER.

Republican Party is made up of spineless wimps who don’t want to upset the good thing they have in DC.

And now we have McCancer, the ultimate RINO and his sidekick with Police Chief Marge Gunderson who is isn’t allowed to talk to anyone unless it’s scripted by the McCain campaign.

Ancient Rome is jumping for joy. They no longer will be the biggest society to have failed.

BOR was wrong to say it’s Bush’s fault. I agree with you that O’Reilly is right the Bush didn’t do enough to sound the shofar, so to speak.

I don’t watch the man’s show anymore because it is a bore.

But on this point, he is right. If Bush’s warnings to Congress fell on deaf ears, as did McCain’s, and as did Hillary’s (supposedly), then who had the bully pulpit?

This is not 1960 anymore, there are TOO MANY OUTLETS to go directly to the people.

Now, I don’t pretend to know whether the bail out is the right or wrong thing to do. I’m not that smart about these things, and I doubt that most Freepers howling about BOR are either. But for heaven’s sake, if Bush called Rush and said, “Will you interview me?” on this matter, do you think Rush would have said no?

I agree with your points about Bush but you could show a little more respect for Senator McCain and Governer Palin. The cancer reference was tacky.
