A new poll out from TIME/CNN Wednesday night shows Republican presidential candidate John McCain with a 50% to 46% lead over Democratic Presidential Candidate Barack Obama in West Virginia.
It's the first time TIME/CNN polled West Virginia. The cable channel lists the state as "Leaning McCain."
CNN's poll findings include a 2 to 1 lead among Independent voters for McCain in West Virginia. According to the poll, Obama leads among self-identified moderate voters. Obama also has a three point advantage among female voters in West Virginia, according to the results.
The survey of likely voters took place the past few days.
If independents are for McCain 2 to 1, but his overall is only up by 4, I believe it shows the skewness of the party weights. I realize that registered Dims may surpass the Republicans in WV, so they may have used this distribution instead of the distribution on how people voted in recent presidential elections.

Hmm, internal Obama polling must be looking bad. CBS early am news is pulling out all the stops. 5:30 news here in Boston had a picture of him speaking in front of American flags..(Why? He claims he’s citizen of the world, not the US!. The crawl under Obama’s face read: Zogby predicts Landslide! The deaf or hard of hearing could be excused for thinking Zogby was definitely calling it an Obama win. Nonsense.
4 points in WV? Probably more like 14.
LOL! Being right across the crystal clear Ohio River from West Virginny (Bluegrass, to be specific)this poll is a farce. SAZ minions are the run of the mill, cut from the same cloth libs that we know and can’t stand.
McCain wins WV by 12-15.
Only 4? That seems awfully light. I’d assume McCain would be up by at least twice that.

McCain is only ahead by 4 in WVa according to a Time poll? Something is wrong with the polling. The campaigns have access to the real numbers and they must be scaring the crap out of Obama’s.
W.VA. isn’t even in play. Obama got trounced there by Hillary.
TIME is garbage. No reason to read this bias poll.
You're probably being too kind to Obama. Between his history on gun control and Biden's crack about not using any coal in the United States, a 14 point spread would be a gift!

Yeah. You have to be smokin’ something to believe that poll. McCain will have a landslide victory here.
