The Wall Street Journal reports that a federal grand jury in Los Angeles is investigating the so-called "Friends of Angelo" loan program at Countrywide Financial, under which influential borrowers received preferential terms on home loans.
The reported borrowers under the program have included U.S. Sen. Chris Dodd (D-Conn.), former Fannie Mae Chief Executive Franklin Raines, and California state appeals court judge Richard Aldrich.
Today's Journal:
Countrywide loans on preferential terms to influential figures are the subject of a federal grand jury investigation in Los Angeles, according to people involved in the inquiry. Prosecutors subpoenaed records of many of the so-called "Friends of Angelo" loans in August, lawyers and others familiar with the matter said.

I didn't have room in the add-on to put all the Democrat's names. Don't need the whole list, just the person who is Obama's advisor.

Republicans should try to pressure the Obama people to get Raines to step aside pending this investigation. They should make a major stink about it. This will tie Obama and his cronies to the failure of Frannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
Also, Dodd should be asked to step aside pending the investigation.

That would be, “former Fannie Mae Chief Executive Franklin Raines”.
I should have said, “under the bus former Fannie Mae Chief Executive Franklin Raines”.

Jamie Gorelick got one also! Add her name to the list!
Counselor Gorelick got a nice near-half-page article on p.A10 of
today's Wall Sreet Journal (Thurs 9-25-08).
Sounds like she got a sweetheart one-percent interest rate
reduction.
But of course she didn't think she'd gotten any sort of
special treatment.
(yeah, right)

Christopher Dodd belongs in jail. He is a crook, just like his dad who was one of only two senators ever censured.
To: VOA
It's very easy to see if they got special treatment. Did they get a better rate than a 40 year old that has never been late or missed a payment on a debt?

Is it possible, I mean a little bit possible, the financial collapse leads to an enema of the democratic party?
With so many Dems in office mixed up with this and their helpers all rolled up, will these investigations FINALLY do something about democratic corruption?
Btw, if a Repub gets caught in this, good riddance. I’m all for ethics in Government.
