A quick little vanity because we have a need to know. In Missouri, the lack of yard signs compared to Bush-Kerry race in simply amazing. We see them here and there but I would say here it is at least 80% less than previous races. Bumper stickers are probably 70% less than before. Is it fear of vandalism, apathy? I apologize in advance for this vanity but it would be an asset to hear what it is like in other states right now. Some of my neighbors who usually are big Dim supporters and always have signs... do not have signs this time around. If a thread similar to this has gone around I missed it so thanks for your input. So am I nuts or what?
OTOH, I'm seeing quite a few NOBAMA bumper stickers.
In Denver, Co area, VERY few Obama bumper stickers or signs compared to all the Kerry/Edwards morons who still have them on their vehicles. Don’t know what to attribute it to. As I said in an earlier post, I honestly don’t know if it will be razor-close, a blowout either way, a handy win either way, or what! Guess we’ll just have to wait and see. I work in the Boulder area and there are plenty of Obama idiots here at IBM, but few outward signs of support. They do hate my guts for my McCain/Palin ‘Country First’ bumper sticker though! (grin)
Unfortunately where I live we don’t have a McCain or Republican headquarters. (rural Southwestern IL)
It was cheaper for me to pay $7.00 each for them then for me to drive outside my area to get them for free.
There are no signs or stickers in my neighborhood outside of Denver, but driving into Denver I’ve seen a few for both candidates.
I too have noticed a surprising lack of yard signs and bumper stickers.
I see few signs but the one I see are McCain Palin signs. I haven’t seen a single Obama sign anywhere.
Same problem in Virginia.
Very few here compared to prior years (S.W. of Mpls.)
I’d chalk it up to the dems’ 2 year primary...
I think most of us are sick of hearing about it.
Obama Obama Obama bumper stickers and window signs, which I guess are yard signs propped in windows.
Reporting from San Francisco, the belly of the beast.
As to why I don’t have either - I don’t want a rock through my window or someone playing chicken with me on the freeway.
I have seen 3 McCain bumper stickers and no McCain yard signs.
In Texas the GOP is justing getting the McCain Palin signs in..Oh, and the McCain Palin bumperstickers..That’s why in these parts you haven’t seen them.
I assume the majority of them when the were printed went straight to Ohio, PA, and the swing states.
There are a lot of Hillary Dem’s in Texas who felt like TX shafted them-since some votes counted more than others here. I believe they will definitely go for McCain Palin.
I loved those Kerry/Edwards bumper stickers. When people took them off they removed some of the paint so you see partial Ker or wards before they realized the problem.
In CT I have seen few signs anywhere. However, one family put a McCain yard sign on his lawn and the next day it was gone, replaced by a Obama sign which was quickly removed.
Another Dem. in town usually puts up Dem signs and had a Obama sign which they took down and only has one local Dem Rep. sign up. Think they changed their mind.
I live in the belly of the wackos. SF Bay area. I’m amazed how rare I see a bumper sticker for Obama. I mean gosh I have a Obama08 sticker. Okay Okay Mine says
NOBAMA08!!! : )
I live in Madison Wi, so you can imagine.. That said, there are more Kerry/Edwards stickers than Bambi.. and there are noticably fewer signs...
The only McCain signs I’ve seen are the huge signs the farmers outside of town put up.. I’ve only seen two Bama yard signs, which is weird for Madison.
Here in Georgia - just outside of Atl. I’ve seen a handful of Obama bumper stickers.... just started seeing McCain/Palin bumper stickers and no yard signs.... my guess is fear of vandalism.
Well, here in my litle town in NJ, an ordinance was enacted about 5 years ago banning political signs. Needless to say, after my yard sign for Bush was taken down I immediately replaced it with another one, along with a large note which “don’t DARE take this one.” This year I have ordered 10; if one goes down one will go right back up again.
They don’t change voters minds. Ads on TV do. An economic decision.
So far here in north San Diego county I’ve seen far fewer bumper stickers, and almost no yard signs. Maybe a dozen Obama bumper stickers. One McCain. In 2004 there were many more W and Kerry stickers.
One thing I’ve noticed is that I haven’t seen a virgin, intact Obama bumper sticker since April. Most look like they’ve been ripped off the bumper somewheres along the line and reattached with tape. About half of them are taped to the inside of the rear window.
My guess is that Hillary supporters have been out with the paint scrapers.

if you need more, drop me a note
I picked up a yard sign today at the Republican headquarters. They won’t have bumper stickers until next week. People are much more interested in the House and Senate races here and, in my area, the tribal elections (Cherokee Nation).
I’ve seen quite a few Obama signs in Tulsa, few McCain. But Obama doesn’t have a snowball’s chance in Hades in Oklahoma.
