Why is it that so many middle easterners now run the gas stations/ convenience stores?
I noticed it before I left Memphis in 2004, and it had spread to to even rural stations.

I had two gas stations in my family owned by older relatives, both long retired, one in their late 70s, one in their early 80s.

Both told me after decades there was no money in gas sales.

Gas stations now are convenience stores that sell gas to bring customers in. And it’s pump your own.

Because all the motels have been bought up by Indians. ;-)
