I live just outside of Atlanta and my local QuickTrip has plenty of gas, but I’m not telling anyone where it is . . . just kidding. It’s at Lawrenceville Hwy and Coolidge Rd/Northlake Pkwy.
I don’t understand why this station always has gas and everyone else can’t find any.
Any modern vehicle that specifies premium will run fine and cause no damage whatsoever to the engine on regular gas. The onboard computer adjusts the timing for whatever the octane of the gas is.
I had a 2002 Buick with a supercharged engine that I bought new and drove almost 100,000 miles. The service manager at Buick told me I could run it on regular with no problem, and I never ever put one drop of premium in it, and it ran like a scalded cat and always very smooth, and got good mileage too, and still did when I sold it.
The bottom line: as long as your engine is not pinging when you run it on regular, you are NOT doing any damage whatsoever to it.
Mine is a modified Camaro including the knock sensor to compensate the exhaust vibration. NO way I am running reg in it. The computer has been modified as well so the fuel trims are offset. It hates the blend they force on us, I can’t imagine the carbon from regular.
Well that’s different — I had assumed you had a factory stock vehicle.
“If it is a public school, they have their own gas supply at their bus garage.”
“Yes, but why is their supply line still full?”
I am not an expert on this, but when I was in Tennessee, my
business was radio communications. Two of my large customers
were school districts that ran numerous buses.
I never saw any diesel buses.
For one, even a large fleet of buses probably require a
relatively small amount of gas, compared to a gas station that is pumping gas 24 hours a day into many hundreds of cars.
In addition, I imagine that government agencies would have
priority over commercial retail dealers.
Ain't sure,,,
And,,,:
More may be back up by now...
I agree. Every time there’s a crisis he screams for the government to DO SOMETHING, ANYTHING! which usually means bigger government.
He gets too hysterical like Shepherd “Metrosexual” Smith and Geraldo “You’re racist!” Rivera.
Most didn’t have jobs in their home Countries that apply here, or they need better English skills, or certifications that take awhile to get.
I know two teachers from India that can’t teach here, so one bought a Mrs. Winner’s and the other bought a Chevron.
Most are decent people wanting a better life, just like the commercial says...BUT...beware that there is a scam in all of this.
Let’s say Ravi buys a Chevron. He gets a Resident Visa. Then, after he gets permanent residency status, he “sells” the Chevron to Rajesh. Now Raj gets a resident Visa and when he gets his permanent residency card, he “sells” to Vijay...and so on and so on. Now, they can all come and go in perpetuity. This applies to Pakistanis, Russians, Poles, Arabs, etc.
The reality in most of these situations is, none of them ever really bought anything, except a permanent residency card. Usually the money was never theirs. Chain sponsoring is profitable.
Did a degree from Ga tech fly in your car?
Nah — already have a better degree ;-)
Farther down in the article the source of the problem is located. Atlanta has stricter EPA regulations which means that gas can’t be brought in from other cities. They’re trying to temporarily lift the ban until the crisis passes.
LMAO....you go girl....oh sorry you said you felt G in mid town....hey so do I..LOL
EARTH FIRST!!
We will drill for oil on other planets later.
We certainly agree about O'Reilly! I think I cut these guys a bit more slack than you do. Would really like Rather or Jennings over hyper-Smith?! Geraldo is good comic relief -- at least some of his outspoken opinions are conservative.
Gas prices dropped 20 cents practically overnight in Austin to 3.47.
Gee, you think it would have helped if we were able to build more refineries?
But noooo, the stupid leftist hippies put so much red tape into building one that noone wanted to add one in the past 25 years. So you have an infastructure that is struggling to keep up with demand on a good day. Add a hurricane and you’ve got shortages.
Nice work, RATS.
Drill here, drill now.
And with a red car, there’s no way Tech would have given him a degree.
Hey life is good in Lilburn, I only saw two stations without any gas and that was last week.
I must have passed at least 20 gas stations today on my way from Midtown to Stone Mountain and back. Not one station had gas...
I pulled into one station where people were lined up, and people were just waiting at the station for gas to show up.
Its a good thing I can walk to work.
Ahem. O’Reilly has been one of the few conservatives to really stick it to the gas companies. If you’re going to try to criticize him, you’ll have to do better than that...
