If it is a public school, they have their own gas supply at their bus garage.

Yes, but why is their supply line still full?

Yes, most use diesel and there doesn’t seem to be a problem with diesel.

Okay, thanks.

‘round me, 2 of 8 stations had gas, one at $4.19 and the other at $3.79 but with dangerously long lines.

Because they don’t have lots of scared people topping off constantly.

Not to worry, the democrat run congress is working the problem, right?

Meanwhile, have you tried wind power by pushing it down the road? I hear that’s healthy too. I do hope that you live at the top of a hill and have several cars to push down the road until you can buy gas.

While you’re waiting, take advantage of the savings you are running up by not having to buy gas, replace all the lights in your house with that garbage that wont light up anything more than your favorite painting.

If it starts to look like your going to get fired for not showing up to work, ride a bicycle and leave your home at 3 in the morning... less traffic at that time too.

Anyway, hang in there, because when Obama is president, you wont need gas and you wont have a job, unless you’re black. You will be able to stay home and collect a government check and ponder the good old days.... back when you were free.

There was a fire yesterday at one of the main refineries feeding the Colonial Pipeline, expect the problem to rotate around the SE.

Why is it that so many middle easterners now run the gas stations/ convenience stores?

Because all the motels have been bought up by Indians. ;-)

I am not understanding this gas crunch. I live in Kansas City we have no problems. Actually last night gas fell by 5 cents a gallon at most stores you can find it as low as 3.20 a gallon, there are no lines no shortages and not outages. I am not quite understanding why that area is having such a problem.

Suspend any and all “price gouging” laws.

We had the same problem here in Tallahassee last week. I actually had to borrow my in-laws car because mine was out of gas and there were literally no gas stations with gas. It lasted about 5 days. It has slowly come back to life this week.

School buses fill at teh bus depot that the fuel is delivered to and bought by the school district often on contracts. They fill up at the local school districts bus depot. MOst school buses could not fit at a regular gas station and an average bus holds 65 gallons of gas. :) Hope that helps.

the ridiculous EPA regs we are hampered with on gas blends.

Fact Sheet: Increasing Fuel Supply in the Aftermath of Hurricanes Gustav and Ike
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2008/09/20080915-7.html

The EPA has waived certain fuel requirements in order to make it easier to use the supplies we have domestically and increase flexibility in what we can import. This waives requirements for gasoline sold or distributed in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, part of Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.

I’m finding the further you drive away from the main interstates you can find gas. I’m right off GA 400 interstate.

Are you saying tourists might get stranded in Georgia? What are trucks doing? Do you have food shortages yet?

You’re probably thinking of Belvedere. That’s Aiken County, but not Aiken “city”.

Strange place, though. It’s funny. Around here, they’re pretty well behaved. I guess even they know better than to foul their own nests.

I am not understanding this gas crunch. I live in Kansas City we have no problems.

Your area of the country is not dependent upon a single refined products pipeline. Colonial Pipeline was running at reduced rates for a while because of refinery shutdowns then was shutdown itself due to a fire.

Why are so many run or owned by middle easterners?

Makes me wonder too. Without feeling like a worry wart.

And yet it worries me just the same.

Pickens is sending windmills Express delivery so be patient.
And the bio-fuel folks have plans to build “Just in Slime” refineries so help is on the way.
