It's no sure thing for the Dems picking up this CO senate seat.

This HAS to mean that McCain is close to a lead here, too.

A dead heat? If Schaeffer pulls ahead, I'm confident McCain will pick up Colorado.

In virtually every poll, Bob Schaffer has exceeded the early expectations of his candidacy. Will Sarah Palin be making a campaign appearance for him?

If Schaffer win’s, McCain definitely wins. If Schaffer is close to tied, then McCain should have a slight lead.

Schaffer’s race is a definite bellweather for this state.

This is the one state that concerns me. Others may be close, but this is the one earmarked as a concern back in 2004. Ohio’s not even close to being the swing state this one can be.

Ads running here stress energy and Udall’s record of voting against exploration and development. There have been some recently run by an independent group hitting Udall for his opposition to partial-birth abortion restrictions and parental notification. The ads I have seen run by Udall have been pretty wimpy and are aimed at painting Schaffer as being in the pocket of “big oil”. If Palin or McCain swing thru the state once or twice (or more) before November the GOP has an excellent chance of retaining the seat. Since Colorado is a swing state I expect we will be seeing one or both of them.

Wow, Udall’s negatives higher than Shaffer. The snot-nosed elitist from Boulder wants to take away the secret ballot from working stiffs like me.

Shaffer needs to get his positives up.....highlight how he kept his word on term limits and retired from the House on schedule. That’s aguy who takes reform seriously.

Wow!

Either this is an outlier, or McCain is doing better in Colorado than most polls are showing. Bradley effect?
