Ummmm....I had no idea that 99% of those who have viewed it, or will view it, are Republicans.

Now that is news!

Rosey,

What I said was “conservatives.” But to your point:

Really? You think there’s a large contingency of UNDECIDED voters out there who say to themselves, “Forget about the talk shows, the ads, the web sites the candidates themselves put up; I want to really learn about what the candidates themselves think. I’ll go look up what 527s and PACs have to say on YouTube.”

Sure, YouTube vidoes get a lot of viewers. And, truthfully, I should acknowledge that YouTUbe videos for people “in the tank” on one side of the political debate also get attention from people “in the tank” on the other. But the problem with the internet is that it creates an “echo chamber”: People believe they’re hearing the broader world, but they’re only hearing themselves shouting, and other people echoing the same thing.

Preaching to the choir DOES have its purpose. FreeRepublic, DailyKOS and other groups have certainly affected the political debate. But when the preacher raises money for evangelism efforts and never leaves the pulpit... well, that’s a problem.

Now, Impeach98’s vanity was essentially a press release for his own organization, using FR as “free media.” When I was skeptical towards his group, he didn’t address my concerns, but went on the attack. Finally, he explained who he is and what he’s doing, and I respect him for it. You have to preach from your own pulpit to raise funds for that mission trip, sometimes. But I believe strongly that those who have truth on their side (conservatives) should demand openness from those who would lead or teach, and should be realistic about what they’re doing and what they’re accomplishing.
