I learned today that our local (Blue Bell, PA) McCain office has been having trouble supplying yard signs. I find this very interesting, because I've been seeing a lot of McCain signs and fewer Obama signs than I'd have expected. If the supply is constrained, the real level of support may well be higher than evident.

My 13 year old son has observed that homes with Obama signs don't fly American flags. I'm seeing a lot of American flags flying lately. I'm hoping it's a subtle pro-McCain signal. Tempers are high in this community, and I suspect many people won't put out signs out of concern about vandalism or post-election repercussions. It's a heck of a year.

Overall, I have seen a LOT fewer political signs for all candidates. Obama has been, by far, the minority. On the other hand, I am in the one of the “reddest” counties (Forsyth) in a very “red” state, Georgia.

RE: “........My 13 year old son has observed that homes with Obama signs don’t fly American flags..........”

It’s true here, too, in my older suburb of Los Angeles. It’s a very Dem area and has been since the fifties, when the homes were built. I know this as I grew up here.

There are few American flags flown, but most of those that are flown belong to “R” voters. My immediate neighbors (raging libs) clearly detest seeing my flag every single day. My house is painted pure white, too — white with an American flag. Love it.

Recently my family went to Hawaii. Great trip, and came home with a couple of stickers for car windows. Seems benign enough, right?

Well, one super lib next door was clearly unnerved last week to see me outside applying something to my car’s back window. She pretended to be busy on her front porch but I caught her watching me — no doubt she breathed a sign of relief to discover my new sticker was simply that of .....
a Maui hibiscus.

My job requires me to be all over town. I’m seeing more McCain signs than Obama signs. What puzzles me is that I do not see Obama signs in the sections of the city where I’d expect, namely section 8 house, low income housing, etc.

Up until the last few days I was seeing more Obama stickers on cars, but that is changing. I think its about even now. Seems like a lot of people have very recently taken a public stand in favor of McCain.
