They’re not really that left wing, actually.

They voted for McCain in the 2000 primary, and their views of Bush hasn’t really improved since then.

I guess they think Hillary might be more to the right than what is actually true, and they can see 0bama for what he is...a radical left winger who hates what this country has been and is hell bent on the wrong kind of “change.”

Sounds like I mis-stereotyped then. My apologies. I can understand if people were only getting their news from the TVs, they might mistake Mrs. William Clinton for a 'moderate' (and sort of reasonable) - as one might do the same for Dianne Feinstein in California (because when she is contrasted against our other Senator - Mrs. Feinstein seems like a bastion of sanity and conservatism...).

So basically your relatives have plenty of reasons not to vote for Mr. Obama. Not only the reasons I listed earlier, but they also recognize that Mr. Obama's form of marxism can't be coated with enough sugar to swallow.
