The problem is not Fannie and Freddie. They are only the result of the problem.

The real problem is the Community Reinvestment Act which mandates loans to poor borrowers and does have teeth to it to force lenders to issue these loans. A lot of illegal aliens also qualified for these loans.

It was all about social engineering in the first place, something Reagan warned us about.

So dang right. It is worth repeating. Thanks for the post. We all need to be reminded on what started this whole thing to begin with. This is the core of the problem.
