Maybe you and Dave didn’t notice what has happened to Merrill Lynch, Bear Stearns, AIG, Lehman, Morgan Stanley, Citigroup, Fannie and Freddy in recent days. To some of us rubes this has the appearance of a system failure that if not stopped has the potential to collapse the credit markets and banking system for a good long time.

You’re right. The arrogance of both he and Christopher Dodd is incomprehensible. I don’t know what to make of this current crisis but I don’t trust many of those in Washington. I know we have some good people in DC but I think the majority are not to be believed.
This creates the illusion that a real problem has been solved and averts a big problem.

as i understand it - clinton put in cisneros and he said the new hud goal was that 40% of loans be to bad risks (help me here) - then henry's problems caused him to exit hud and andrew cumo (30 years old?) was given hud - he made that goal 70%?
can someone fix my understanding of this and explain how hud has influence over the financial industry?
