The fact is, when you concentrate power in a small number of people, which is always the functional result in socialism, communism, fascism, and all other systems I can think of, the end result is always a movement toward criminal behavior (Stalin, Hitler, Castro, Khomeini, etc., etc.).

... Bear & Stearns; Lehman Brothers; Goldman Sachs; Bank of America; Washington Mutual....

The fact is, FRiend, that power -- in the form of incredibly huge asset positions -- was concentrated in the hands of a few financial houses. And those organizations had clearly moved from "making honest money" to simply "making money."

Now let's talk about how criminality and "capitalism" can comfortable coexist.

I think we actually agree. I’m very much in favor of the FBI investigating fully and letting the chips fall where they may. I am one of those people you mentioned who have been gamed by these organizations. The problem is that these financial institutions and the people in positions of government oversight who are supposed to be monitoring them have become intertwined. If you’re going to be a ruthless corrupt financier, it’s always easier if you have helpful politicians in the wings whose palms you can grease to get favors or to look the other way.
