VICE-President hopeful Sarah Palin has denied an affair with her husband Todd’s business partner.
The Republican candidate is furious over claims she cheated on Todd — dubbed the First Dude — in 1996.
The National Enquirer claims she had an affair with his snowmobile dealership partner Brad Hanson.
The magazine said it took place when Palin was mayor of home town Wasilla and started because she was “lonely” while Todd was away working on oilfields.
The alleged fling ended when Palin, 44, confessed to furious Todd. Palin denies ever cheating on Todd and Republican John McCain’s campaign has threatened legal action over the “vicious lie”.
The Enquirer quotes convicted thief Jim Burdett, a relative of Hanson’s wife, and said to have passed a lie detector test.
But Hanson, 46, insisted: “I never had an affair of any kind with Sarah Palin. Todd and I are friends.”
The story is believed to have been spread by Palin’s political rivals. McCain senior adviser Steve Schmidt said: “The smearing of the Palins must end.”

Yeah, like 30 seconds after he heard about Palin being named vice-presidential candidate.

I think I'll allege that Michelle Obama was boinking Joe Biden after she ceased from boinking Reverend Wright.
And further, I allege that Obama's daughters are really the progeny of Michelle and Chris Rock....allegedly...because a 'source' told me so.

Uh, but, it is the same folks (The National Enquirer) who broke open the news about John Edwards' affair.
Yeah, I really believe this Burdett guy, so closely related to Hanson, 'n all, and he did pass a polygraph test.
Damn National Enquirer, they get one thing right, Silky Pony's affair, and they start acting like they're a reliable news rag.
Good point, but in addition there is a reason why lie detector results are not admissible in a court of law.
Who is Burdett......isn't that the same name of the guy that was source of Dan Rather's forged documents on Bush's National Guard service.
Unlikely any relation....but a WOW, huh! coincidence.
In fact, I don't see any difference. I never read/watch any of them. I haven't subscribed to a newspaper or a news magazine or watched network TV in years. I don't trust any of them to be truthful.

Did you get that email which was going around re: conservatives have lookers...Palin, Coulter, Malkin etc... Then scroll down the page - So does the left... All of a sudden you see that “sleepy” pic of Hillary, Helen Thomas, Janet Reno, and that one who partied with Kim Jong Il..Madeleine Albright. Ugh, Frighening! LOL Mental disorders make people very unattractive!
I wouldn't lower myself to their standards against my worst enemy for power or money. How anyone could vote for that scum is beyond me. Anyone who would use the tactics, being used by the Democrats, to attain power must have some horrific sinister plans for the citizens of this country if they manage to win this election. The Dems are as bad as some third world dictator who will use any means at their disposal to gain and retain power.
I have seen some of these same tactics used here in my IN county by Dems to win election. They will lie and distort things to no end to win. They are disgusting but I don't think even they would go as low as the Obama campaign.
