VICE-President hopeful Sarah Palin has denied an affair with her husband Todd’s business partner.
The Republican candidate is furious over claims she cheated on Todd — dubbed the First Dude — in 1996.
The National Enquirer claims she had an affair with his snowmobile dealership partner Brad Hanson.
The magazine said it took place when Palin was mayor of home town Wasilla and started because she was “lonely” while Todd was away working on oilfields.
The alleged fling ended when Palin, 44, confessed to furious Todd. Palin denies ever cheating on Todd and Republican John McCain’s campaign has threatened legal action over the “vicious lie”.
The Enquirer quotes convicted thief Jim Burdett, a relative of Hanson’s wife, and said to have passed a lie detector test.
But Hanson, 46, insisted: “I never had an affair of any kind with Sarah Palin. Todd and I are friends.”
The story is believed to have been spread by Palin’s political rivals. McCain senior adviser Steve Schmidt said: “The smearing of the Palins must end.”
Burdett is a former brother-in-law of Hanson’s estranged wife Carolyn's brother, Craig Batton, and still speaks with many family members.
“I’ve known about Brad having had an affair for a long time, but it wasn’t until just recently that I learned his affair was with Sarah Palin,” Burdett told The NATIONAL ENQUIRER.
“Todd found out about the affair and was so mad he broke up their partnership at the snowmobile dealership,” Burdett claimed.
I wonder if he found this out on the internet like 3 weeks ago?
Another source, who preferred to remain anonymous for fear of repercussions, provided The NATIONAL ENQUIRER with a sworn affidavit attesting to the Palin-Hanson story.
There was a blog called alaskanabroad or something that said the "affair" wasn't consumated but they got close or something...

Notice the sun call him “convicted thief” who just happened to find out the true identity of the affair and passed a lie dector test. What could be on the lie detector test? He’s a second hand source who supposedly found about about a decade long affair...

All I can say is that the left must be terrified of this woman. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen such vicious attacks. Of course the liberal women are right there with the wolf pack.
