Isn’t the McCain campaign treating her as if she’s not ready for prime time?

Don't be a putz.

She should know his legislative record of bipartisanship and reform if that is the mantle under which they are running.

Unfortunately McCain/Lieberman and McCain/Feingold are some of the last things I would want to be telling Palin she should answer to ANY question.

The best thing to do as a politician in a hostile interview is have a talking point at the ready for any and all questions, even if the talking point is only tangentially related to the question.

“McCains legislative record?”

He pushed for the surge, influential member of the Senate for decades, voted for tax cuts.

“Can you be more specific? His record on particular votes?”

He pushed for the surge, influential member of the Senate for decades, voted for tax cuts.

I am wondering how much this was cut as well. Charlie Gibson got away with short quoting Gov. Palin, and ABCNBCCBS clipped the part of her challenging the accuracy of the quote, only to have Gibson snarl “its your exact words”; I saw it on the internet, but the tv version had that cut out. In the tv reality that many experienced He read the short quote (leaving off the “we should all pray that...”) and she answered about Lincoln. That was a TRAVESTY, and if any of the other outfits had ANY integrity they would call them out on this and Gibson would be the next Dan Rather.

If there was anything at all there we would have been seeing those outtakes all day long.

Not a peep, no little teases as all.

Gibson couldn’t wait to send around fake outtakes.

Nothing could be as bad as her interview with the Edwards after Elizabeth’s cancer return was diagnosed.

Couric is hate filled, no place at all for heart and soul.

Fortunately Katy is not a major player in the news anymore.

Don't think we will be very happy with this. Looks like a heavily edited hit piece. This seems to be a mistake by McCain/Palin.

Of course it is. The stupidity shown by McCain in sending Palin into an interview with the rat news media at this point gives me genuine pause about the man's judgment. This election offers one helluva frightening choice.

Sarah was fine. And the one segment where she stuck her finger in her mouth and then waved it while talking about Obama was priceless.

Looked OK to me. Who knows what kinds of bills or regulations are connected to any politician? What we do know is that NO legislation is connected to Obama.

What is the point of this anyway? If the questionnaire wants to know what the candidate thinks of a position that is one thing but knowing what someone has done over their career is not something most people would commit to memory.

Suppose one of these people want to start ticking off the names of lesser known nations and who their presidents are? Who has that kind of information and why would they?

Had Couric asked about a specific piece of legislation and then asked Palin to give her views on it it would have significance. She was asked about regulations. Isn’t that what Republicans have been trying to get away from? It isn’t regulations that caused the problem. It was POLICIES of the giveaway party, the Democrats. Not regulations.
