This is from the NE online regarding their “family insider”:

The name “Burdett”.....wasn;t that a name in the Dan Rather scandal??

In other words, Burdett isn't anything even resembling a relative much less a family insider. It's probably true he still speaks to some family members, just not anyone in Palin's family, and only to say "Would you like fries with that?"
