WTF? Was Pres. Bush trying to get a run on banks?
“businesses may not be able to pay their employees”
I know nothing about running a business but I’ve heard (and it sounds reasonable) that businesses sometime take short term loans to make payroll. There are lots of state laws I believe that make it very expensive to miss a payroll — especially the workers comp and taxes!
Or how about McCain’s “people won’t be able to buy houses” comment. That’s how the Wall Street robber barons got us into this mess in the first place. Not everyone can afford to (or should) own a home.
Whoops. Sorry, that was McCain sounding like he was starting a run on the banks.
