Former abortion doctor urges South Dakotans to vote for life

Sioux Falls, Sep 24, 2008 / 12:47 am (CNA).- Pro-life activists in South Dakota have launched a television ad featuring Dr. Bernard Nathanson, one of the founding members of NARAL, who calls on South Dakotans to vote to ban the use of “abortion as birth control.”

In a TV ad supporting Measure 11 in South Dakota, Dr. Nathanson explains that he and his colleagues who founded NARAL created it to “export our pro-abortion mentality across the land.” He also reveals that, “One of our strategies, in order to mislead the American people, was to deny what we knew to be true, that an abortion kills an existing human being.”

“This was the greatest mistake of my life… and the greatest mistake in our nation’s history,” states Nathanson, who performed 75,000 abortions and at one point ran the nation’s largest abortion clinic.

The new ad is part of an effort by VoteYesForLife.com to convince voters to pass a bill that would ban abortion in South Dakota, with exceptions being made for rape and incest, and to preserve the life and health of the mother.

The campaign was required to gather around 18,000 signatures to place Measure 11 on the November 4 ballot, and they succeeded in securing 58,000 signatures, according to VoteYesForLife.com.

“It’s clear that Measure 11 is what the people of South Dakota have been asking for. It is going to take a huge coordinated effort to mobilize a state-wide grass-roots effort, but we are already seeing it happen,” said Brandi Gruis from VoteYesForLife.com. “Measure 11 is the reasonable law South Dakota asked for.”

On August 12, the pro-abortion groups NARAL and Planned Parenthood Action Fund reacted to the effort by holding a press conference in Washington D.C.

“Let’s not kid ourselves," Nancy Keenan, executive director of NARAL Pro-Choice America, told reporters. "The people behind this effort [want] to make South Dakota the first step in a long-term campaign to mount a legal challenge to Roe."

Confessions of an Ex-Abortionist

BERNARD NATHANSON

Dr. Bernard Nathanson details the deceptions, dirty tricks, and other tactics that helped make abortion legal and socially acceptable in the United States.

Dr. Bernard Nathanson

I am personally responsible for 75,000 abortions. This legitimizes my credentials to speak to you with some authority on the issue. I was one of the founders of the National Association for the Repeal of the Abortion Laws in the U.S. in 1968.

Praying that South Dakota will pass this bill.

This was passed and signed into SD law before without the rape and incest exclusions. And too many of the people of South Dakota hid behind those lack of exclusions to strike the law down at referendum.

Now these very same voters are having their masks ripped away. This is exactly the bill they said they would support. We will see what really happens.

I predict the bill will pass and be signed into law. I further predict the law will once again go to referendum. I predict that subsequently many of the sanctimonious SOBs who claimed lack of rape and incest exclusions caused them to oppose the earlier law will once again vote to oppose and to rescind the new law containing precisely those provisions. And I finally predict the law will stand to start facing innumerable legal challenges.

Most of the people who voted to rescind the earlier law are closet communists. When they oppose this version of proposed law, they will finally be self-identified as baby killers.

RECLUSE! Where the hell have you been? Of course I haven’t exactly been around, if you know what I mean, and I know you do. Was down hard for about five weeks with what I think was a kidney stone, but doing better now.

The only people well known for kidding themselves Nancy, is those who regard Abortion as the sacred sacrament to the religion of choice, and a government approved Constitutional right, instead of what it really is.

Oh, PS, a government approved right courtesy of a body that is not in charge of unalienable rights nor to legislate from the bench, is not a right, despite what you would like, nor is it right.

LOL! Doing the old computer/Internet shuffle and changing things around. Updates/upgrades are a killer ;-)

Other than that, trying to prepare for the crazy season where everyone wants to suck your life away for “fun” events.

Won’t make the rally tonight. Hope you are there & give ‘em hell!
