McCain doesn’t have to get Obama’s agreement to do anything. Leaders make decisions and act. Obama always wants a consensus before he acts. Most people (except hard core Obama supporters) will see this act by McCain as an unselfish move and he will be rewarded at the polls. IMO.

Exactly right. McCain was going back whether Obama agreed to it or not. Leaders lead. Followers issue joint statements and do nothing.
