"Not only that, it's a very risky move. IMO the outcome of the Paulson plan has been decided..."

But you don't know that and neither does any other voter. McCain has already made the commitment to Country First as he has claimed all along he is strongly in favor of. By doing this he re enforces that commitment and by coming out with this and asking Obama to join him he shows LEADERSHIP. If he gets there tomorrow and by Friday there is an agreement nothing is lost. He has still proved to be a leader and Obama a follower if he joins McCain in Washington, and worse if he remains alone on the campaign trail.

But you don't know that and neither does any other voter.

Comments made in today's hearing by Schumer and Frank, and their body language with respect to Paulson and Bernanke seemed to be saying that a deal has been reached and they are now going through the motions.

Also, don't forget, the Rats control both the Senate and the House. McCain will be walking into a den of vipers with few weapons at his disposal.

But all I'm saying is that it's a risky move. If it works, great, but there's a lot of potential for problems.

Obama's best move would be to not take McCain's bait. For example, he could say that he's been conferring with Pelosi, Frank and Dodd all along and has helped come up with a resolution. He doesn't need a grandstand play because he's been taking care of business from the start. He, the One, can both take care of business and debate.

Just saying -- it's risky.
