I think you are missing the point. We really do have an economic crisis on our hands and action needs to be taken sooner rather than later to avoid plunging the nation [and the globe] into a financial disaster that will cost millions of jobs and wipe out the savings of millions. Even from a partisan point of view, if that were to happen, do you that would be helpful to McCain's election chances?

FYI: We have in the DC area a very respected financial advisor, Ric Edelman, who has written a number of bestsellers on financial management. He said this morning thaT Congress should get out of the way of Paulson and Bernacke, and let them address this problem post haste because the loss of confidence in the economy could lead to a financial calamity. We are literally at the abyss of downward spiral that could spin out of control and have disastrous effects on the nation. I trust Paulson and Bernacke more than Congress on this issue. They [Congress]are the ones who got us into this dilemma.

Yes, that is being missed.

People have not grasped that we have a true crisis on our hands. This is not posturing, and this bailout bill is floundering. If someone has a better idea (than what Paulson proposes), they sure haven’t offered it.
