I don’t like this. This is like Jimmy Carter refusing to campaign in 1980 because of the Iran Hostage situation, ask Jimmy how well that worked out for him in the end.

Not to diminish the hostage situation but there is no comparison.

The economic situation has quickly become a global issue and has the potential of taking the US right into a major depression, the likes of 1929. Look at the effects on the British, Japanese and Russian stock market.

Carter’s decision to suspend his campaign ultimately failed because he failed to act. In reality he did little to stand up to Iran or to get our hostages back.
