Do yourself a favor -- read a book

Yes, there's a list of titles floating around the Internet right now, but it's a fake. It is, however, established fact that our would-be vice president has in the past tried to pull books off library shelves.

The New York Times reports that as a member of the City Council of Wasilla, Alaska, Palin complained to colleagues about a book called Daddy's Roommate, described in promotional material as being ''for and about the children of lesbian and gay parents.'' Laura Chase, who ran Palin's campaign for mayor, explained that the book was harmless and suggested Palin read it.

Chase told The Times that Palin replied she ``didn't need to read that stuff. It was disturbing that someone would be willing to remove a book from the library and she didn't even read it.''

Later, as mayor, Palin reportedly asked the town's librarian three times whether she would agree to remove controversial books from the shelves. Three times, the librarian refused. Palin fired her, but eventually bowed to public pressure and gave the woman her job back.

Leonard Pitts, a nationally syndicated columnist who normally shows signs of being in touch with reality has either slipped over the edge, or has proof that no one else has. I was amazed to see him state this as "fact", based totally on recycled and debunked secondhand information from that unimpeachable source - the smear merchants at the financially troubled New York Times.

Ouch. Nice zinger. Just a quick Google search shows that Pitts has written nasty columns about Coulter on several occasions.

I doesn’t even make sense to challenge the author on this, because anybody remotely interested in the truth or maintaining his credibility would never have written it in the first place.

It might be an interesting exercise to visit the local library and see how many Anne Coulter books are on the shelves, along with those by Thomas Sowell, Rush and other conservatives.

I willing to bet the collection is scant at best.

These liars are getting desperate.The sad part is the RATS are pure cult followers and they would believe anyone that pushes their cause. Sad we have so weak minded Americans, but what do we expect with the schools and colleges pushing this garbage out for years.
