TOKYO - The Bank of Japan pumped another 1.5 trillion yen (US$14.2 billion) into money markets Wednesday, amid an effort among the worlds central banks to calm worries about a global financial crisis.
The Bank of Japan during the past week has been injecting trillions of yen by the day to add liquidity into the system. The latest brings the banks infusion to a total of 14 trillion yen (US$132.6 billion).
A widening credit crisis, which began last year in the U.S., is threatening the worlds economic health and stability. The collapse of Lehman Brothers last week is fuelling additional worries about a possible financial crisis.

Question: Why are the Dow futures UP? I can't figure it out and it's bugging me...
I just looked at Gold futures. They are now trending up instead of down like they were a few hours earlier.
Time to invest in the company that makes the Fed’s Printing Press.
The market is likely anticipating the bailout to pass.
You're probably right, but it seems a little early for that. I would think futures would climb through the roof this coming Thursday evening.
The other possibility is a desire on the part of the market makers to unwind positions. They can easily drive the overnight futures and create false optimism.
