"The new ESEA must finally address the deep and tenacious educational debt that holds our nation's future in hock and insure that every child has access to adequate school resources, facilities and quality teachers."

Also, in February 2008 Darling-Hammond issued a blueprint for education reform by the next President that set as its #1 priority the repayment of the "education debt," as proposed originally by Ladson-Billings.

This will likely be Obama's education secretary should he, god help us all, get elected. Bill Ayers holds the same exact stance on this issue, which are derived from Gloria Billings. These people are frightening.

As someone who teaches English to Alaska Native students, it sounds like the gravy train is about to roll into town should Obama be elected, since Alaska Natives score just about the worse of all ethnic groups on standardized tests and have some of the worst poverty rates in North America.

So we’ll be flush with cash for a few years.

Then the lack of results will be blamed on the lack of Native teachers, but since there are few of those, the non-Native teachers like myself will remain, but in an environment of increasingly sullen and dispossessed Natives who will blame their troubles on “white people.”

After a while, that sulleness will grow like cancer into full-blown race hatred. Good teachers will leave in droves, despite the money. Test scores will decline. The students themselves will be left without much of an education.

Eventually, there won’t be any more money left to steal from the productive people, and the whole system will collapse, sadly leaving me without a pension and a whole generation without an education, work ethic, or pride in their ability.

If Obama’s elected, I give it about 20 years before the whole house of cards collapses. I’ll be 72. That should really suck.

I think most telling is this radical idea of reparations for slavery is also espoused by Bill Ayers.

Its pretty clear to me that if you vote for Obama, you’re voting to put Bill Ayers into the White House. Obama’s entire campaign is a lesson in Maoist and Alinsky radical tactics and methods and it looks like Ayers is pulling Obama’s puppet strings. I can’t believe this many people have been brainwashed into this garbage. Obama is nothing but a black Adolf Hitler.

If Obama gets elected, he will dismantle NCLB yet keep the money funding it.
He will then ask for MORE money for whatever his new proposal will be.

What in the sam hill is “education debt reparation”??

Does everyone here know that many cities, including Washington, DC, spend MORE per capita on education already than the national average? We know that our big city school systems have some of the biggest problems, HOWEVER, if they are already spending the most money, clearly, there are other problems to be addressed besides that catch all “lack of resources” that they always talk about.

Whether educational debt reparations to increase spending on inner city schools is the answer is questionable.

And as far as the justification for school reparations/upgrades/whatever, how is this to be done? The Brown decision came down 54 years ago banning legal segretation in schools. I know it took many years for the dual school systems in the south to be dismantled, but the point is, those systems have been gone for about 40 years now. Nobody attending school today ever attended a legally segregated school.

And speaking of our big city school systems, the vast majority of those cities are governed by liberal Democrats, and have been for generations. Aren’t their liberal Democrat education policies providing a good education for their students? If not, why not?

Certain questions should be answered before we jump off the cliff of educational reparations.

To my knowledge, not one media member has ever asked Obama about this advisor of his. I bet he would throw her under the bus in about 2 seconds and say she’s really not an advisor. Luckily for us, I saved a webpage from an article she wrote yesterday that states she’s an Obama education advisor.

Ironically the education black children received in segregated schools was usually much better that what they get today. Sure the black schools were shorted on money, but they had teachers that didn’t go through our university ed schools. Teaching was a high calling and a way to elevate the race.

It would be frightening if there was actually some likelihood that anything would come of it.

But the facts are -

- These people are hopeless doofuses
- There is no money from the Feds, seeing as we will be broke for a while, and this is all really a state matter anyway.
- Money doesn’t matter in educational outcomes, and everybody in the field understands this, even though they won’t admit it, so its universally understood to be pointless.

"The new ESEA must finally address the deep and tenacious educational debt that holds our nation's future in hock and insure that every child has access to adequate school resources, facilities and quality teachers."

Not this BS again. The idea that student performance correlates with dollars spent is a canard.
