The purpose of the investigation is to make sure everyone has their story straight and any incriminating evidence is buried in very deep hole.
Then we'll hear about how mistakes were made and there's plenty of blame to go around and a commission is needed to study the problem and make recommendations, blah + blah.
No evidence of criminality will found and “it's time to put this behind us”.
I think we've seen this movie before.

And we have a winner - someone who understands what government investigations are for!
Too many on this thread are hopeful that this investigation means the opposite of what it actually does.
