I’m with you on that. People need to go to jail over this. This is way worse than Enron.

Free clue for FBI researchers:
Good day Agent:
There were 13 attempts in Congress, or by the Bush Administration, since 2001, to investigate and attempt to control Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. The most formal of these is S.190 Senator McCain 2005 Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs (in the current congress it’s S.1100), which was killed in the senate committee. Jot down the names of those senators who fought the bill in committee.

Securities guaranteed by these 2 entities are the heart of the issue with all these financial firms, and you will find them on the books of all the corps, including the GSEs, and incuding all the defaulted banks, and AIG Corp.
Many members of Congress received “contributions” from these GSEs, several of whom actively resisted many attempts mentioned above.
Get out a notebook, or Lotus 1-2-3 (I know you guys are probably running 386 PCs). Jot down the dates when the 13 attempts above were stopped, and compare those dates to the “contributions” dates for each Senator or Representative.
You have the research teams, I’m confident the Agency can round up this information within a couple months (/sarc).
Now, IF THE DATES LINE UP, that might be an indication of, well, something being awry.
Please remember, BOTH SIDES of a conspiracy to defraud are liable.
The charge is: Racketeering under the RICO statutes, Collusion, and Bribery.
